Members of the Dodge City High School class of 1945 were challenged by generations to see if they were "smarter than a fifth-grader" at their reunion held Oct. 3, 2008 at Casey's Cowtown. Thirty-five members and guests attended.
The master of ceremonies was Patty Fairbanks. The invocation was given by Joleen Fromm. Speakers for the evening were George Mussemann remembering when he played on the undefeated and untied Red Demon football team of 1942 - 43 when the 45ers were sophomores; Jack Anderson reminisced about the dear old golden rule days and Clair Conard who read the last will and testament of the class published in 1945. The class has lost 76 members of their 123 classmates. Questions for the fifth-grade quiz were provided by Roberta Eagan Lollar, class of 1949.
The next reunion will be held April 3, 2009.
