DODGE CITY —

 Bruce A. Ryba was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on Aug. 28, 2008.  He holds the position of Cerdec current operations support coordinator at Fort Monmouth, NJ.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1985.  After basic training at Fort Dix, NJ he spent three years in the US Army Europe (USAREUR) Transportation Company in Heidelberg, Germany, driving around distinguished visitors.  After this he attended United State Military Academy at West Point, New York, and received his commissions as Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery.  In 2000, he graduated from the State University of New York in Albany, NY with a Masters of Business Administration Degree in human resources and information systems.
    LTC Ryba started his commissioned service in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC as a Company Fire Support Officer.  He then served in the 2nd Infantry Division in the Federal Republic of Korea as a FSO, 1st Battalion, 503 Infantry Regiment, Assistant Operations Officer, and Headquarters battery Commander, 2nd Battalion, 17th FA Regiment.  He then served as the Athlete Admissions Officer and Congressional Liaison at the United States Military Academy.
    His Acquisition Corps experience began in 2003 where he served under the program Executive officer for Intelligence Electronic Warfare and Sensors as the Assistant Product Manager for Global Positioning Systems.  Following his APM Assignment, LTC Ryba Served as the Military Deputy, Counter Improvised Explosive Device Task Force, Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate, and he currently serves as the Current Operations Support Coordinator for the Communication Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center.
    LTC Ryba is a graduate of the Field Artillery Officer's basic and Advanced courses, Combined Arms and Service Staff School, Command and General Staff College, Ranger School, Airborne School, Jumpster School, Air Movement Operations Course and Mountain Warfare School.
    His awards include the Rander Tab, the Senior Parachutist Badge, the German Sports Badge, the Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf clusters, the Army Achievement medal with two Oak leaf clusters, and the Army Good Conduct Medal.
    LTC Ryba graduated from Dodge City High School in 1984 and has two sons, Michael Patrick and Trevor Lee, currently residing in Chazy, NY.  His parents are Mike and Karen Ryba of Dodge City who also attended the ceremony.
