American Legion to start Riders Group

Dodge City Post 47 is starting an American Legion Riders group and Sons of the American Legion. To be eligible, you must be a member of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion of the American Legion Auxiliary.
    To be eligible for the ALR, you must have served in the military. For SAL, you have to have a father or grandparent who served and for the ALA, you must be a spouse of a veteran or have a parent or grandparent who served.
    The ALR supports veterans in many ways, from protecting families at funerals to the Legacy Fund, which pays for college for children of fallen soldiers.
    We would like to have an organizational meeting at 7 p.m. Monday to get started and elect officers at the American Legion Building on South 14th Ave.  For more information, contact Al Folkerts at (620) 338-3246.
