The Kansas Heritage Center, which is located in the USD 443 administration building at 1000 N. Second Ave., will host an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday.
The open house coincides with Kansas Day and the 149th anniversary of Kansas statehood, which took place in 1861.
The center is also celebrating the completion of a recent renovation project. "We changed our floor plan to better serve the people who use the center and we freshened things up a little," said Barb Vincent, director of the center.
The open house will include refreshments, a 10 percent discount on books and a drawing for a Kansas gift basket.
