    • Authorized the Ford County Health Department to end its status as a lead agency for the Women, Infants and Children nutrition program.
The health department is the lead agency for WIC programs in Clark, Gray, Hodgeman and Meade counties, but a heavier workload makes it difficult to continue that arrangement, said executive director Angela Elder-Sowers.
"I feel that it is no longer feasible for the Ford County Health Department to oversee the subagencies' financial issues and assist them with WIC issues that they may encounter," she said in a memo to the commission. "The subagencies' health departments have strong management staff that I believe are very capable of handling all aspects of the WIC program themselves."
