Elwood and Elsie were married August 7, 1948, before she finished high
school.  They were blessed with three children - twin boys, Larry and Gary, in 1950 and a daughter, Diana, in 1956.
In addition to their three children, their family has multiplied with seven grandchildren (Mandi, Lance, Robert, Jennifer, Skyler, Jamie and
Candace) and eight great grandchildren (Deven, Ashley, Logan, Allison,
Madison, Skyler, Cheyenne and Sierra).  In memory, Gary, Paul (son-in-law),
and Robert have been taken by the Lord.
Elsie was a life-long resident of Meade; while Elwood was born in
Pennsylvania and lived there until his early 20s, he has resided in Meade for about 60 years.
Elwood and Elsie have served Meade well by working diligently throughout their married life.  They built a packing house, owned the Meade Sale
Barn, built the Meade Feedlot, had a large farming operation and owned
and operated the Meade Drive-In Theater.  Elwood spent several years as a cattle buyer throughout western Kansas, the Oklahoma and Texas  panhandles and eastern Colorado.  Because of their business and
professional activities, both became well-known through out southwestern
Kansas.  A highlight of their lives was an honor given Elwood when he served as a judge at the American Royal in Kansas City. During this activity they became friends with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.
Many friends have called and wished them good luck and many more happy
days.
