There's still time to take advantage of a series of free tax workshops for small businesses offered by the Kansas Department of Revenue and the Kansas Small Business Development Center at Garden City Community College.
Sessions for general businesses and contractors are available in Dodge City, Liberal and Garden City.
"These will clarify important topics that can be time-consuming and confusing," said Pat Veesart, Garden City, SBDC regional director.  The sessions are designed for small business owners, managers, bookkeepers, payroll personnel and staff members who prepare tax reports.
The workshop in Liberal will be conducted Oct. 14 at the Rock Island Depot, with a general business session from 1 to 4 p.m. and a session for contractors from 6 to 8 p.m.
Dodge City segments will take place Oct. 16 at the Sheridan Activity Center, with a general business session in Spanish from 9 a.m. to noon and a general business session in English from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Garden City general business workshop is set from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 15, with a contractor session from 6 to 8 p.m., both at the GCCC Student and Community Services Center.
The workshops are free but reservations should be made ahead by contacting the GCCC Small Business Development Center, or 620-276-9632.  Workshops will only take place with sufficient enrollment.
