The Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the Dodge City 21st Century Leadership program.
Applications may be picked up at the Chamber office, 311 W. Spruce St., or by calling 227-3119, according to a Chamber news release. The deadline for applying is Jan. 9, and up to 15 people will be selected to participate in the program.
The 21st Century Leadership program is designed to build a pool of future leaders for the community. It is open to anyone who is at least 21 years old, lives or works within driving distance of Dodge and is interested in community involvement.
Tuition costs $500 per person and covers most meals, materials, graduation and other costs.
The program officially begins Feb. 5 and is divided into eight and a half all-day sessions, ending with graduation on May 21, according to the news release. It is designed to give participants a deeper understanding of the community while broadening their communication and problem-solving skills.
In addition, the program will allow participants to see how community decisions are made, who makes them and what influences them.
