Dodge City police seized 11 pounds of marijuana worth approximately $11,000 on Tuesday.

    The Dodge City Police Department and the Southwest Kansas Drug Task Force received word from Texas authorities that a UPS package headed for Dodge City might contain illegal drugs, the police department said Friday in a news release. A Texas police dog alerted on the package, indicating the presence of drugs.

    The package was forwarded to Dodge City, where authorities seized and opened it after obtaining a search warrant. They discovered 11 pounds of marijuana inside.
    Authorities questioned two Dodge City residents about the package but have not made any arrests.
