Ricardo Martinez, 31, was eastbound on Kansas Highway 4 when he drove into the north ditch and struck a field entrance, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported. His 2003 Ford Explorer went airborne and landed on the east side of the field entrance, where it rolled before coming to rest on its top in a field north of K-4.
Neither Martinez nor his passengers, Carlos Martinez Jr., Arturo Martinez and Carlos Quintana, were wearing seat belts when the wreck occurred, according to the KHP report.
Martinez was taken to the Ransom Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
