Robert L. Crabill, 87, died July 26, 2009 at Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore.
    He was born May 26, 1922, in Norton County, the son of Fred P. and Jessie M. Patterson Crabill.  On October 3, 1953, he married Treva McConkey in Quinter.  She died October 13, 2008.
  He enlisted in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in September, 1942. He served at various Army posts in California, Missouri, Utah and Hawaii and participated in the battle of Okinawa.  He was honorably discharged in February, 1946.
    He started his banking career at Citizens State Bank in Norcatur, March of 1946 and  worked in banks in Quinter and Jetmore retiring in January or 1997 with over 50 years of service to the banking industry.
    Survivors include: a son, Robert and wife Michele, Jetmore; two daughters, Laurie and husband David Dansel, Julie and husband Alan Ochs, both of Jetmore and eleven grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Kwartz and Genevieve Anderson.
    Memorial service will be at 10 a.m.Thursday, at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with Rev. Kirk Larson and Dr. Dyton L. Owen presiding.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.Tuesday and Wednesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Inurnment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore, with Military Graveside Rites.
  The family requests, in Bob’s honor, you may wear a ball cap to the service.
