With Minneola leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth inning, Sublette’s Spur Robbinett hit a home run to help push the Larks past the Wildcats, winning 6-3 in the Class 2-1A regional championship game to go to state.

“It was a kid way down the order, that last time we played them, he did not touch the ball,” Minneola head coach Ed Chamberlin said.

Prior to the home run, Minneola pitcher Jason McClaren allowed a base hit and hit a batter to put two men on for Robinett.

In the fifth with the bases loaded with Minneola runners, Sublette’s right fielder Brodie Blackburn made a good break on a ball that looked like it was headed for the gap to make the catch and end the inning.
“That hit would have put us up … and change the whole complexion of the game,” Chamberlin said.
