    “I'm a cowboy at heart, I love Western movies,” Dodge City's new police chief, Robin James, said in a recent interview.
    He said knowing that such historical figures once lived in Dodge interested him in moving here.
    James began his duties as Dodge's newest police chief on Monday. He replaces former Chief John Ball, who retired in December 2009.
    James began his career in 1974 as a patrol officer with the Durham, N.C., Police department. He served in various other divisions within the department, including the Detective, Vice and Narcotic and Training divisions.
