   Michael Combs had always wanted to learn to fly, but he kept finding reasons for putting it off.
    Then in August 2003, the Corinth, Texas, resident became seriously ill due to a weakening heart. After he recovered enough to move around on his own again, he realized that he had let go of his dream of flying.
    That realization prompted Combs to begin planning a cross-country flight, dubbed "The Flight for the Human Spirit."
    His mission: Teaching people about the importance of listening to their heart.
    "The whole focus of this flight is just to reach out to 20 million people to let them know it's never, ever too late to follow your dreams," Combs said in a phone interview Monday.
