Keep Dodge City Beautiful has been named as a recipient of a $10,000 community improvement grant from The UPS Foundation. Nationwide, sixteen Keep America Beautiful (KAB) affiliates received the merit-based grants supporting programs that address litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling, beautification and community greening.

Keep Dodge City Beautiful currently has a remote recycling drop off location for Dodge City residents at the Civic Center.  As this site is a highly used drop off location, KDCB would like to replace the collection services at this site to two recycling roll off containers and use the existing bins and trailer at a new drop off location in south Dodge, expanding their collection capabilities at the Civic Center, and freeing up the current bins for use in another area of the city.  The bins currently in place at the Civic Center face overflow, causing recycled material to blow around the Civic Center parking lot.  The new roll off containers will be fully enclosed and larger than the current bins.  The grant funds will be used to purchase the two roll-off recycling containers.

“Keep Dodge City Beautiful is honored to be chosen to receive funding for this very important effort to enhance the quality of life here in Dodge City,” said Kurth Lancaster. “We are extremely thankful to The UPS Foundation for their generous support of our community.”

“This financial contribution supports the overall commitment of UPS employees in the Dodge City community,” said The UPS Foundation President Ken Sternad. “They see the needs and are dedicated to improving the local environment.”

The awards were presented to KAB affiliates in recognition of their volunteer initiatives with local UPS locations throughout the United States. UPS employee volunteers will actively support the programs nationwide.
