The Mid-America Air Museum has planned some special activities for June 4-6.
All three days, you can take a flight in an R-44 helicopter. The day flights start at $30 per person.
You can also make an appointment for a custom flight, which can include night flights and extended flights, starting at $40 per person.
On June 5, the museum hosts its first "Crawl Thru," during which 10 historic aircraft will be open for airplane enthusiasts to explore and experience the excitement of being in the pilot's seat of planes like the B-25 Mitchell bomber, the "Iron Laiden Maiden"; the Beechcraft Starship; and the Grumman TBM Avenger, a torpedo bomber similar to the plane Lt. George H.W. Bush was flying when he was shot down off the coast of Chichi Jima during World War II in 1943.
For more information about the crawl-through or helicopter rides, call the museum at (620) 624-5263 or stop by 2000 W. Second St. in Liberal.
