The therapy services department at Western Plains Medical Complex has announced the addition of Hugo Dahlstrom, OT, to the staff. Dahlstrom will provide occupational therapy to patients in the hospital as well as at the outpatient clinic at Village Square Mall.
“We are excited that Hugo and his family have come to Dodge City,” said Amy Dunn, DPT, ATC, director of the therapy services department. He brings a wonderful skill set to our department, and we know that our patients will benefit from his abilities.”
Dahlstrom graduated with a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Kansas. He holds undergraduate degrees in psychology and occupational studies. He also served two years in the Peace Corps in the Republic of Macedonia in southeastern Europe.
Occupational therapists focus on rehabilitation that allows people to get back to their normal activities. Whether the individual’s condition is the result of trauma or generalized weakness, occupational therapists use restorative and adaptive methods to improve the individual’s level of independence and quality of life.
