Kansas sophomore forward Thomas Robinson has been cited with misdemeanor battery after a fight at a nightclub.

Jerry Little, Lawrence city prosecutor, said Tuesday that Robinson, a junior, is accused of being involved in the fight April 10 outside the Lawrence night club. He said officers served Robinson with the ticket Monday.

Kansas coach Bill Self said in a statement that he's aware of the "situation" with Robinson, who notified him immediately after being interviewed by police. Self said Robinson has been cooperating in the investigation, and that he won't have additional comment.

Robinson averaged 7.6 points and 6.4 rebounds a game last season, and recently decided to return to Kansas instead of entering the NBA draft.

Police said the case remains under investigation and other people could be charged.
