 Bill Turley, 91, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital, Wakeeney.
    He was born Dec. 5, 1919, to Robert Alfred and Mary Alma Borstz in Ness County. He married Verda Artz on Aug. 24, 1940, at Scott City. She preceded him in death on April 23, 1995.
    He was retired US Navy and was a farmer/stockman.
    Survivors include his son, Jim and wife, Linda Turley, Wakenney; daughters, Betty Jean and husband, Van Tenny, Dodge City and Karen and husband, Chuck Fowler, Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers, Ralph Turley, Alva, Mo.; sister, Elsie Wren, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, Robert, Earl and Clarence Turley; four sisters, Gertrude Turley, Estella Fairchild, Vanna Hatler and Dorothy Blume.
    The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Arnold. Burial will be in the Arnold Cemetery, Arnold with military rites by the Ransom VFW.
    Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Schmitt Funeral Home, Wakeeney.
