Demons meet Garden today


The Dodge High School baseball team will return home today to face rival Garden City in doubleheader at Demon Field.

    First pitch is cheduled for 4 p.m.

    The Demons enter the game at 3-5 and 0-2 in the Western Athletic Conference.    

    Dodge City is 2-0 at home, only allowing one hit in a sweep of Wichita South.

Tennis team to host home invite

    The Dodge City High School tennis team will host a home invitational meet today at Dodge City High School.
    The meet is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Dodge City has already hosted two junior varsity meets, but this will be the first home varsity meet of the season.

DCHS tennis finishes seventh

    The Dodge City High School tennis team took seventh place Tuesday at Maize. Wichita Collegiate captured top honors, while Goddard finished second and McPherson grabbed third place.
    In No. 1 singles for DCHS, Tanner Miller took eighth place and fellow teammate Hendrik Kronsbein also finished eighth in No. 2 singles.
    In No. 1 doubles, Garrett Salem and Zak Nichols were the top finishers for the Demons, taking fifth place. Miguel Lopez and Trevor Brock finished in seventh in No. 2 doubles.
    The team will be back in action today at home when they face Garden, Liberal, Great Bend, Larned and Meade.

Demons C baseball team drops games to Hays

The Dodge City High School C baseball team (4-6) dropped a pair of games to Hays.
    In the first game, the Demons only managed to put up one run, which was from Austin Ridenour. Arrin Tieben went 1-for-2 for Dodge with one RBI. Tieben also took the loss from the mound giving up three hits off 11 runs.
    In the second game, Dodge was able to get a little more production offensively, as five different Demons made contact with the ball. The team was led by Tieben who went 4-for-4, scoring two runs and one RBI. Arvin Romo went 2-for-4 from the plate for the team, scoring two runs and one RBI.  Kelan Newton took the loss, giving up nine runs on the game.
    Dodge will play next on April 28th at home against Great Bend.
   

DCCC basball team hosts final homestand

The Dodge City Community College will host Butler this Friday and Saturday — the final regular season home games for the ball club.
    First pitch is set for Friday at 4:05 p.m. at Cavalier Field.
