The Dodge City High School boys’ golf team finished eighth out of  36 teams at  Hutchinson Invitational on Friday at Carey Park Golf Course. 

    The Demons shot a 343 in winds that gusts reaching more than 50 mph during the day.     

    Kaupaun Mt. Carmal finished in first place, shooting a 311.


The Dodge City High School boys’ golf team finished eighth out of  36 teams at  Hutchinson Invitational on Friday at Carey Park Golf Course. 
    The Demons shot a 343 in winds that gusts reaching more than 50 mph during the day.     
    Kaupaun Mt. Carmal finished in first place, shooting a 311.
    Zach Kirby’s 81 and Brendan Herrera’s 82 led the Demon golfers, both won a top-20 medal in the 184-player field. 
    Other Demon scores were Levi Bone with an 85, Jace Larson had 95, and Brad Hutton shot a  96. “We shot three good scores in difficult conditions”  DCHS head coach Jim Mapel wrote in an email.  “The boys handled the adverse conditions well and fought hard for every stroke.”
    The golfers return to action Monday at the Great Bend Tournament, which will be played at Stone Ridge Golf Course.
