Judy J. Moler, 71, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City after a long battle with lung disease and cancer.


     Judy J. Moler, 71, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City after a long battle with lung disease and cancer.
     She was born Aug. 19, 1940, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to George D. and Audrey E. (Whitmarsh) Bates. On Jan. 4, 1961, she married Sam Moler in Lakin. They resided in southwest Kansas, including Garden City, Sublette and Cimarron.
     After moving to Cimarron in 1979, Judy owned and operated Resources Unlimited, a seller of computers and office supplies.
     Judy is survived by her husband, Sam Moler of Cimarron; two sons, Kris and Kurt Moler, both of Cimarron; her mother, Audrey E. Harrison of Cimarron; a stepdaughter, Pam Goodwin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, Keith Bates of Cimarron and Bob and Doug Bates, both of San Diego, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
     A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Cimarron, with Pastor David Johnson presiding.
     There is no visitation, as cremation has taken place.
     In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Transplant Living Centers Inc., an organization that supports the recovery and care of organ transplant recipients. This fund has been chosen as Judy was the recipient of a lung transplant in 2005. Donations should be sent in care of   Swaim Funeral Chapel, PO Box 1057, Cimarron, KS 67835.
