Carolyn F. Hrencher, 71, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt.

She was born April 29, 1940, in Neodesha to Albert and Mary (Gillen) Ricke.

She was born April 29, 1940, in Neodesha to Albert and Mary (Gillen) Ricke.
     On May 10, 1960, she married Clarence F. Hrencher at Sharon. He died Nov. 20, 2003.
Carolyn and her husband made their home on a farm three miles west of Sharon, where they worked together long hours raising sheep and growing wheat.
     She is survived by three sons, Kelly and his wife, Chris Hrencher, Medicine Lodge, Dan and his wife, Melissa Hrencher, Medicine Lodge, and Nick and his wife, Jill (Drouhard) Hrencher, Hiawatha; three daughters, Coleen and her husband, Mike Stein, Dodge City, Mary and her husband, Danny Thomas, Dodge City, and Denise and her husband, Ed Jarmer, Hastings, Neb.; eight brothers, Delmar, Ken, Lou, Steve, Ron, Tom, Randy and Jerry Ricke; seven sisters, JoAnn Rinke, Phyllis Davis, Betty Lantzy, Ruth Blick, Kathy Hart, Jan Feld and Dorene Reeves; and 17 grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Nate Sherman.
     A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sharon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday at the church, with Bishop John Brungardt, Fr. Robert Schremmer and Fr. Cosmas Nwosuh presiding. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, Sharon.
     Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.
