As president of the Advisory Council for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)/Volunteer Center, I want to take this opportunity to let our community know the number of hours quietly provided by the members of RSVP/Volunteer Center.
     The figures are astonishing.
Of the 316 volunteers who reported their hours, the total number of volunteer hours given to our community, Ford County, was 298,164.55.
This is a tremendous gift to our community, and one worth recognizing. It reflects very favorably on Dodge City and Ford County as a vital and caring community. These volunteers give freely and willingly of their time and talent to help others.
I encourage everyone to take time to call RSVP/Volunteer Center office at 227-7077 to express their appreciation of the meaningful service given so unselfishly by the wonderful volunteers of RSVP/Volunteer Center.
