Ruby Pearl Parker, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at the Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

She was born Dec. 8, 1928, in Liberal to John Drury and Viola (Kolb) Beck.

She was born Dec. 8, 1928, in Liberal to John Drury and Viola (Kolb) Beck.
     Pearl grew up in Liberal. She married Clyde Brantley in 1945 in Liberal. He died in the late 1970s. She then married Dillard Parker in 1981 in Elkhart. He died in 1989.
     A hard worker, Pearl was a secretary for Southwest Public Service and also for a gas and phone company.
     Pearl is survived by one daughter, Leuticia Thompson of Lake Charles, La.; one son-in-law, Lowell Scripter and wife, Madelyn, of Council Grove; one stepson, Randy Parker and wife, Peggy, of Elkhart; one brother, Bill Beck of Liberal; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cheryl Scripter; a grandson, Quint Scripter; and two sisters, Fern Hesston and Jessie Cook.
     The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church, Elkhart, with Pastors Jim Cunningham and Ron Wilson officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at the Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta.
     Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
