Earl G. Youngberg, 83, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at the Kansas Soldiers' Home, Halsey Hall, Fort Dodge.


     Earl G. Youngberg, 83, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at the Kansas Soldiers' Home, Halsey Hall, Fort Dodge.
     He was born June 22, 1928, at Salina to Ruben W. and Edna Gerdes Youngberg. On Aug. 7, 1959, he married Beatrice “Jody” Pearce at Hutchinson. She preceded him in death on Dec.16, 2007.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. A Dodge City resident since 1981, moving from Garden City, he was a truck driver for Praxair.
     Survivors include a brother, Donald Youngberg and wife, Gloria, Hutchinson; four sisters, Helen Fenwick and husband, Earl, Hutchinson, Sharon Parker and husband, Glen, Oak Harbor, Wash., Nadine Oliver, Hutchinson, and Lois Youngberg, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and a close friend, Theresia Trent, Dodge City.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Douglas in 2007; and a close friend, Butch Trent.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, Fort Dodge, with the Rev. Dick Robbins presiding.
     There will be no public viewing.
