Doris L. Dye, 95, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at the Morton County Care Center in Elkhart.


     Doris L. Dye, 95, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at the Morton County Care Center in Elkhart.
     She was born Sept. 1, 1916, in rural Meade to John and Mary Teeter. In 1962, Doris married Manford Dye and relocated to Rolla from Ulysses. Manford died Feb. 19, 1995, in the Morton County Care Center.    
     Doris attended operated beauty shops in Wichita, Ulysses and finally in Rolla, where she retired after working in her own shop there for 24 years.
     She is survived by her sister, Margret Parks of Eureka, and a sister-in-law, Myrtle Teeter of Johnson. Also surviving are members of the Dye family:  sisters of Manford, Daisy Lucas and Jessie Skillen; one sister-in-law, Evelyln Dye (married to the late Homer Dye); and one brother-in-law, Bob Skillen. She is also survived by sons, Roger DeGarmo of Broken Arrow, Okla., and his wife, Carla, and Ron DeGarmo of Rolla and his wife, Pat; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
     Doris was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Teeter; five brothers, Henry, Harry, Ross, Ralph and Melvin; and one sister, Dorothy Nichols, and ex-husband, Harold DeGarmo.  
     The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rolla United Methodist Church in Rolla, with the Rev. Sandy Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
     Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
