Gilbert "Gib" J. Herrmann, 87, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at the Edwards County Hospital in Kinsley.


     Gilbert "Gib" J. Herrmann, 87, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at the Edwards County Hospital in Kinsley.
    He was born February 9, 1924, at Kinsley to Carl and Martha (Weber) Herrmann. He married Marie E. Tasset on April 26, 1949, at Kinsley. She survives.
     A resident of Kinsley, he was a farmer.
     He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Kinsley Gun Club and VFW Post 7349, all of Kinsley.
     Other survivors include a son, James of Ellsworth; a daughter, Jane M. Watts of Clarksville, AR; a brother, Jerome of Kinsley; a sister, Janice Gleason of Offerle; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
     A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Kinsley. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Fr. John Strasser presiding. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Kinsley.
     Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.
