Three event highlights
1) The Kansas Department of Commerce is sponsoring their fourth annual statewide job fair today at the United Wireless Arena from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.. The first hour is open exclusively to members of the military and their families, then at 3:30 p.m. it will open to the general public.

2) There will be over 70 companies at the fair looking to hire new employees. Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally as many companies will conduct on-the-spot interviews. The Kansas Department of Commerce also suggests bringing multiple copies of your resume to hand out during the event.

3) If you do not have a completed resume, or would just like help updating it, there will also be people available at the job fair to help. You can also visit www.kansasworks.com to get tips and tools for help writing your resume from their Job Seeker Resources section of the website.

Why you should attend
Last year at least 50 jobseekers found a job at this job fair.
"Anyone who is looking for a job is encouraged to come out to this event," said Phyllis LaShell, workforce response coordinator. "There will be jobs available from entry-level to professional and every skill level between."
