Results from baseball this past weekend, as well news from Conq volleyball.

Conq baseball splits with Barton over the weekend
The DC3 baseball team split the weekend series with Jayhawk West opponent Barton CC. On Saturday, Dodge lost game one 8-5 in extra innings, but came back to win game two 3-0 behind a complete game shutout from Walker Rainwater.
On Sunday, Dodge lost game one 14-2, but again the Conqs were able to take care of business in game two, winning 8-6.
Dodge will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Goodwell, Okla., to take on Oklahoma Pandhandle State JV.

Scheck chooses pharmacy over volleyball, Conqs receive honors
Being selected to the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference 1st team wasn’t enough for Emily Scheck. After receiving an award for excellence and also making the all conference academic team, she received some great news last week when she got the Letter of Acceptance from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy.
After entertaining all offers to continue to play volleyball at a four year institution, she opted to forego her two remaining years of eligibility and accept the position at the University Of Kansas. She will be on a full athletic scholarship for rowing while at KU.
Also, the Conqs placed five athletes on the KJCCC All-Academic team, including Scheck. The other four girls include Mallory Ratts, Kyal Cook, Celia Martin, and Gabriela Mendonca (who recently signed a letter of intent to play for St. Joseph-Calumet next fall). Each girl achieved better than a 3.75 grade point average at Dodge.
