Carnegie Center for the Arts will celebrate from 5 to 7 p.m. with entertainment by Alec Ross. The winners of the Darrell Williams photography competition will be announced, and entries will be on exhibit.
And at the 2nd Ave. Art Guild's gallery, featured artist Andrew Nolan will be recognized with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m.
Nolan was born in Goodland and raised on a farm and ranch that have been in his family for four generations.
He graduated from St. Francis High School, then earned his associate's degree in art from Colby Community College. In 2001 he received his bachelor of fine arts degree in art, majoring in ceramics, from Fort Hays State University.
An ardent traveler, Nolan has toured much of the U.S., Germany, France, Italy and China. His professional associations include the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, the Kansas Artist Craftsman Association and the Fort Hays Creative Arts Society.
Nolan is looking forward to opening his own pottery studio and presenting exhibits on the national and international levels.
