The musical theater workshop class at DC3 will present an evening of songs and scenes from a wide spectrum of shows at 7:30 p.m. today in the Little Theater on the campus.
Instructor for the class, Jodi Frisbie Reese, associate professor of vocal music, will host the performance, featuring ten students plus a guest appearance by the College Singers.
The program will cover everything from standards like "Climb Every Mountain" from "The Sound of Music" to "So Much Better" from "Legally Blonde."
This semester's class includes four community singers who are members of the DC3 Choral Union community choir.
The list includes solos, duets and group numbers.
Popular favorites on the program include "Bring Him Home," from "Les Miserables;" "Bosom Buddies," from "Mame;" "Popular," from "Wicked;" and "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair," from "South Pacific."
Students in the class focus on learning the material, utilizing vocal techniques they're learning in private lessons, and creating characters and motivation for the musical scenes.
