  •      Earlier this week we asked our Facebook fans to answer the following question; "Dodge City's 140th anniversary will be celebrated in less than two weeks, what are your favorite things about Dodge City?" We told them that their responses may be edited for content and clarity and used in a new series in the Globe.   Here are some of the responses we received.
Mark Vierthaler: "We seem to be entering a renaissance for our city. The casino. The arena. The Depot Theater Company. The 3i Show. New, locally owned restaurants opening. Two art galleries downtown. Now is the time to be young and living in Dodge City, as now is the time we can truly make a difference."
Patrick Lopez: "All this new development going on is exciting. Next thing our town needs is a water park. We have outgrown the city pool."
Eric Swanson: "Bella Italia, Bad Habit, HDs and Last Chance."
Shani Davidson Floyd: "The historical theme of Boot Hill and the Home of Stone.... went there many times as a child!"
Deb Bisel: "It's history! And George Laughead!"
George Laughead: "Mueller-Schmidt House Museum is the most beautiful house in the old west."
Lauren Laughead Macaulay: "Home of Stone!!!!"
TaShane Lerch: "The people of Dodge City are the best in the world. We work hard and play harder...."
Debby Kaysonepheth: "The Dodge City Days medallion hunt! I always look forward to doing it every year! :)"
John Black: "Nights at the races."
Sheryl Lyne: "My favorite thing about Dodge is its rich history. I am grateful for the memories and friends I made in Dodge. I will always call Dodge my home town."
Dawn Thompson Kazar: "Loved the "old west" feel of Dodge! But my favorite thing about Dodge is that my daughter lives there!!"
