  •      Daryl M. Barnes, 75, died June 5 at Via Christi-St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. He was born in Lakin on September 18, 1936 to Martin and Chloe (Greeson) Barnes. He married Linda K. Esplund in Minneola on August 4, 1963. She survives.
         He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Virgil, Vera, Vernon and Ralph; and one sister, Vada McMichael.
         He was a farmer and a longtime Minneola resident. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, a former Lions Club member, and had served in the U.S. Airforce.
         He is survived by his son Martin of Americus, daughter Darlene of Lenexa, and two sisters, Doris McMichael and Wilda Tallant, both of Lakin.
         A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 10 at the Minneola United Methodist Church, Rev. Kip Ryherd officiating. Family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola.  Memorials can be sent to the United Methodist Church or the Hometown Market in care of Minnis Mortuary.
