Thomas “Tom” Lee Kelsay, 69, died at his home in Cimarron on Thursday, July 26, 2012.

     Thomas “Tom” Lee Kelsay, 69, died at his home in Cimarron on Thursday, July 26, 2012.
     He was born December 13, 1942 at Flat Rock, Indiana, the son of Owen M. and Evelyn Miller Kelsay.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1969, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.  He served in Korea and the Philippine Islands.  He worked for the United States Civil Service as a meteorologist and was the officer in charge of the Goodland and Garden City office when he retired in 1994.
     He was a Cimarron resident since 1988 and spent the rest of his years traveling the United States and enjoyed buying and selling antique vehicles.
     He was a member of the VFW and was baptized at St. John Catholic Church in Meade on July 11, 2009.
On April 25, 2003 he married Yancy Pablo Retuerto at Las Vegas.
     Survivors include: his wife, Cimarron; 4 sons, Mark and wife Lisa, Wichita, Brian and wife Melanie, Wymore, Neb., Scott, Columbus, Ind. and Myles, Cimarron; a daughter, Anna Salas and husband Orlando, Broomfield, Colo.; 4 brothers, Shelby, Franklin, Ind., Gene, Elizabethtown, Ind., Roy, Philippine Islands and Ronnie, Lebanon, Ind.; a sister, Patricia Valencia, North Vernon, Ind.; and 7 grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
     Vigil Service will be 7 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City.  Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at the church with Fr. Angel Dy presiding.  Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.  Burial will be in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Dodge with military honors by the Air Force Honor Guard and Howard Gotschall VFW Post 1714.
