There's something new for the 2012 version of Dodge City Days and it takes place tonight.
"Saluting Our Troops" features dinner in Wright Park followed by a concert.
National Beef, Pepsi and Dillons Super Store have teamed up to provide hamburgers, chips and Pepsi for the first 1,500 people. Serving begins at 6 p.m. and your Dodge City Days pin is required. A free will donation will be accepted to benefit the Blue Star Mothers of Southwest Kansas, an organization of women supporting our deployed troops.
The music begins at 8 p.m. as rising star Kinsey Sadler takes the stage with her country and patriotic concert.
Sadler's CD was released on the Motion/Spinville label and is currently charting on the Music Row Breakout charts. Her music is available on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and other e-music sites.
Sponsors for the concert are Maupin's Truck Parts and Pos-T-Vac.

Helping those who help
The whole evening of food and music benefits the Blue Star Mothers in their efforts to provide boxes from home for deployed troops.
Radio station 96.3 The Marshal and 95.5 Superhits have been broadcasting live from remote locations and collecting items in support of the effort.
Broadcasts on Friday at Boot Hill and Monday at Montana Mike's got the action started.
Today, the broadcast will happen from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot between Arby's and Cup of Jo-nes.
A drop box for donation items is provided at the remote broadcast location.
Blue Star Mothers, a non-profit veteran service organization, asks you to bring non-perishable items to be sent to the troops.
The mothers get together regularly and pack boxes for the troops.
During tonight's event, if you have an address of a deployed service member, the Blue Star Mothers will pack a box for them on the spot. And you can help pack the box if you'd like.
Among the best items to donate for the boxes are jerky, unscented baby wipes, powdered drink mixes, canned meats, candy (but no chocolate), Ziploc bags, disposable razors, toothpaste, boot socks, comic books and much more.
