Dorothy Lee Nelson, 92, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron, Kan. She was born May 11, 1920 in Ingalls, Kan., the daughter of Blucher and Edna (Farr) Fauley.
She grew up in Ingalls, and attended schools there. She was a graduate of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan., receiving her bachelor of arts degree in music. She taught music lessons in her home for many years. She married Hedborn Nelson. He preceded her in death in 1977. She had been a Cimarron resident for many years. She served the Cimarron United Methodist Church for over fifty five years as their organist, and was a devoted member.
She was also preceded in death by a son Dan Nelson in 1984.
Survivors include, one daughter Peggy Reist and husband Jerry, Ingalls, one sister Lavon Timken, Cimarron, two granddaughter, Andrea Hogue and husband Phil, Dodge City, Victoria Reist, Wright, five grandchildren, and several nieces and one nephew.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at the Cimarron United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Keating presiding. Private family inurmnent willl follow the services at Cimarron Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has been requested.
