Clinton L. Birney, 79, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012 at Edwards County Hospital in Kinsley. He was born March 12, 1933 in Bucklin to parents Harold and Leona (Wade) Birney.
He was a resident of Kinsley since 1991, formerly of Dodge City and Bucklin.
Birney was a member of the First Christian Church at Kinsley, V.F.W. and American Legion. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
On August 2, 1959 he married Helen Darlene Neely at Bucklin. She survives.
Other survivors are: daughter, Joetta May Cox and husband Tim of Lewis; two brothers: Daryl and Gerald; grandson: Bucky Harris.
He is preceded by his parents; son, David Lee; brother, Orland; and sister, Twila Monday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at the First Christian Church, Kinsley officiated by Pastor Kelly Gindlesberger. Visitation is 5- 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Minnis Mortuary, Bucklin. Graveside will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Bucklin Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Julius F. Troehmel Post#269, Bucklin KS.
