Minneola records shutout, Lancers scores 82 in win

MONTEZUMA — The Minneola Wildcats continued their dominance of their competition with a road win over the South Gray Rebels 48-0 in an Eight-Man Division I-District 7 game.
Matt Mcclaren ran for 196 yards, four touchdowns and four conversions to lead Minneola, while Jason Britt ran for 81 yards and one touchdown for the Wildcats (6-0, 3-0). Brandy Shumate and Julin Johnson also scored touchdowns for Minneola in the win. Mcclaren also led the Wildcats in tackles with nine.
The Wildcats will host Hodgeman County in a battle of league leaders next week. The Longhorns (4-2, 3-0) beat Satanta 66-0.

Spearville 82, Deerfield 54
SPEARVILLE — Brandon Davis scored five rushing touchdowns and Nathan Stein added four more scores on the ground as the Royal Lancers improved to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in Eight-Man I-District 7 with the victory over the Spartans.
The Lancers outscored Deerfield 26-6 in the opening quarter, but led by only eight at halftime as the Spartans scored 28 points in the second stanza. The game wasn't in doubt until the final quarter as Spearville scored 22 points and held the Spartans to one touchdown.
Davis scored in each quarter: a 6-yard run in the first quarter, a 1-yard run in the second, a 42-yard run in the third, and on 22-yard and 2-yard scores in the final stanza.
Stein scored on a 30-yard and a 20-yard touchdown in the opening quarter, a seven-yard run in the second and a two-yard run in the third. He also scored three two-point conversions.
Mike Kerschen also scored on a 1-yard touchdown and a two-point conversion for Spearville.
Rene Rubio took two kickoffs for scores in the second quarter and added two rushing touchdowns to lead Deerfield (0-5, 0-2); while Alex Mata returned an interception and a fumble for a touchdown, and also caught a 20-yard pass from Mike Mata. Mike Mata also ran for a 60-yard touchdown run.

Kiowa County 50, Pratt Skyline 0
GREENSBURG — The Mavericks scored 30 points in the opening quarter and 20 more in the second stanza to end their contest against the Thunderbirds in Eight-Man I-District 6 action.
Trevor Powell ran for 93 yards and three touchdowns, and a fourth on an interception for the Mavericks (4-2, 3-1); while Creighton McDonald ran for 119 yards, three rushing touchdowns in the game and also scored a two-point conversion.
Skyline remains winless after six games, 0-3 in the district.
