The Cimarron Bluejays, Hodgeman County Longhorns, Kiowa County Mavericks and Meade Buffaloes Two area teams claimed playoff spots in Eight-Man Division I Friday night.

Cimarron beat Southwestern Heights 56-14 and will face the Holcomb Longhorns to determine the champion and runner-up from Class 3A-District 16 title. Holcomb beat Lakin 34-17 in the other game.

The Hodgeman County Longhorns claimed a share of the Eight-Man I -District 7 title and home field for a first round game in the playoffs after a 58-0 rout of Deerfield in a game ended at halftime due to the 45-point rule.
The Longhorns' victory and Spearville's 26-20 victory over South Gray assures the Longhorns of hosting with their final game of the regular season at South Gray. The winner of the Spearville at Minneola game Thursday night will grab the second playoff spot of the district.

The Kiowa County Mavericks played out of district tonight, beating Attica 60-0; but earned one of two playoff spots after St. John beat Fairfield 54-36 in Eight-Man District 6 play. St. John plays at Kiowa County Thursday night to determine the division champion and runner-up.

The Meade Buffaloes clinched the top spot in the Class 2A-District 8 with a 71-0 win over Elkhart. The Buffaloes will host a playoff game on Nov. 2.
In area summaries:
Spearville 26, South Gray 20 at Spearville -- Brandon Davis scored three touchdowns — including two plays of 70 or more yards in the third quarter — to lead the Royal Lancers to the win and keep their playoff hopes alive.
Davis returned the opening kickoff of the second half 70 yards for one score and later scored on a 76-yard touchdown run. Davis also had a 13-yard run in the opening quarter.
The Lancers also got a 18-yard touchdown pass from Nathan Stein to Hunter Stephenson.
Colton Dirks scored all three touchdowns from South Gray, who was eliminated from the playoff scene with the loss. Dirks had a 27-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, a 12-yard touchdown pass from Gabriel Loya in the third and a two-yard run for a score in the final quarter.
Kiowa County 60, Attica 0 at Greensburg -- The Mavericks scored 38 points in the first quarter and 22 in the second to end the rout at halftime due to the 45-point mercy rule.
Trever Powell had three touchdowns for the Mavericks in the win, while Creighton McDonald added two more.
