Douglas Ray Close, 61, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 from injuries sustained in an auto accident near Kingsdown.
He was born Dec.19, 1950 in Greensburg, Kan. to Leon Ray and Betty Ruth (Rice) Close. He was a lifetime area resident and was a farmer.
Close was a 1968 graduate of Bucklin High School. He served in the US Air Force.
He married Kelly Davis. They divorced.
Survivors include one son, Clint; two daughters, Amber and Casey; his mother, Betty; brothers, Charles and John all of Bucklin; sisters: Connie Sue Cossell of San Jose, Calif., and Nancy Perkins of Dodge City; and five grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leon.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at the Bucklin Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Rick Jones. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at Minnis Mortuary in Bucklin. Graveside service will be at Bucklin Cemetery.
