Clarence “Clancey” R. Lee, 80, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at his home in Cimarron.
He was born Aug. 5, 1932 at Cimarron, the son of Clarence E. and Mae Ray Lee. A lifetime Gray County resident, he owned and operated Southwestern Lathe and Plaster and farmed. He loved gardening and enjoyed tending to his cows and chickens.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany, and was one of the first Green Berets.
He was a member of the VFW.
On March 9, 1957 he married Eva P. Isenbart at Ashland. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2008.
Survivors include: his son, Mike and wife Vicki, Wichita; 2 sisters, Pat Waits, Shell Knob, Missouri and Sue Smith, Garden City; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Jennifer Lee, Nathan Lee, Taylor Lee and Tucker Lee.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joe and a daughter, Karin Simmons.
Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Cimarron Cemetery, Cimarron, with Deacon Dwaine Lampe presiding and full military rites. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and the family present from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, both at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron.
