Dodge City Daily Globe - Dodge City, KS
  • What would you do without electricity?

  • Earlier this week the Globe asked our Facebook fans to answer the following question: "Thanks to Hurricane Sandy, thousands of people on the East Coast still don't have any power a week later. What would you do if you didn't have power for a week? Would it be easy to give up all that technology? Why or why not?" Here are the responses we've received.

What would you do if you didn't have power for a week? Would it be easy to give up all that technology? Why or why not?" Here are the responses we've received.
Librado Jr Ontiberos: "I would honestly just walk and try my best to get to another town or city!"
Ecco Flax: "It would be easy for me because the technology would be out of the way of trying to clean up and it would give me an open time to spend with my family."
Chanda Moore Hudson: "I would be close to tears. My son (special needs) has shows, DVD's and even VHS tapes he HAS to watch at certain times. His whole schedule will be thrown off and thus the end of my sanity!!!"
Cooper Williams: "As a Hurricane Katrina survivor you spend time outdoors, watch portable televisions, bbq and pray every day for the lights to come back on. Clean out the fridge and freezer."
Craig J Ney: "I lived in Florida during a hurricane and we lost power for 14 days. Soup on a bbq grill was not fun but we got by."
