Trend toward Republican, incumbent re-election

Following a canvass of ballots at 8:30 a.m. Monday, results from last week's election have been made official. According to Ford County Clerk and Election Officer Sharon Seibel, 446 provisional ballots were cast county-wide. Of those ballots, the Board of Canvassers recommended counting 261. The provisional ballots did not change the outcome of any of last Tuesday's races.

Official vote tallies are as follows:

STATE SENATOR, 38TH DIST.                        

-Garrett Love, Montezuma, Republican, 5888 votes                

-Johnny Dunlap II, Spearville, Democrat, 2154 votes

STATE REPRESENTATIVE, 115TH DIST.    

-Ronald Ryckman, Meade, Republican, 1064 votes

-Marjorie "Mo" Gilbert, Dodge City, Democrat, 612 votes

STATE REPRESENTATIVE, 117TH DIST.                    

-John L. Ewy, Jetmore, Republican, 859 votes

-Dennis McKinney, Greensburg, Democrat, 403 votes

STATE REPRESENTATIVE, 119TH DIST.                    

-Brian A. Weber, Dodge City, Republican, 3506 votes

-Lawrence "Larry" Blake, Dodge City, Democrat, 1574 votes

COUNTY COMMISSIONER, DISTRICT 2                        

-Chris Boys, Dodge City, Republican, 1948 votes

-Rebecca Escalante, Dodge City, Democrat, 802 votes

-Mike Burkhart (Write In), 219 votes
