The Dodge City Community College basketball teams rebounded from losses Friday night in the Conq Classic by picking up victories Saturday night at the United Wireless Arena to close out the annual junior college festival.
The Conquistadors gained a little revenge by pulling away in the second half to beat Clarendon (Texas) 73-54. Clarendon beat Dodge City in its festival last week.
The Lady Conqs were up by 20 at halftime on the way to a 73-39 victory over the Trinidad State (Colo.) Lady Trojans. Dodge City was up 42-22 at halftime.
The victories ended three-game losing streaks for both squads.
Victor Adams led Dodge City (3-3) in the men's game with 17 points, while Delvon Rencher recorded a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Dodge City led by as many as 35 points in the second half of the women's game to improve to 3-4 on the season. Jameeshia Armstrong came off the bench to lead the Lady Conqs in scoring with 18 points, while Kesha Buckner recorded her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
