  • Santa is going to be busy this weekend.
Thanksgiving is traditionally the time for Santa's first appearance of the Christmas season.
Santa and his sleigh appear at the end of Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City every year, officially kicking off the celebration of Christmas and the shopping frenzies known as Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Locally, Santa has scheduled a number of personal appearances, causing Dodge City children to wonder how one man can keep such a busy schedule.
Kids are invited to join Santa for milk and cookies from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Magouirk Conference Center, located between United Wireless Arena and Boot Hill Casino and Resort.
Admission to the event is a new toy still in the package. Toys will be donated to the local Salvation Army for distribution.
Joshua Roesener Photography will also be on hand to take photos of children with Santa for a nominal fee.
The event is sponsored by Forget-Me-Not Farms, the Magouirk Conference Center and Joshua Roesener Photography.
    At the Mall
Santa will also be at the Village Square Mall this weekend.
The jolly old man will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
He'll be available for photos with the kids and, in Operation Santa Paws, an event sponsored by the Ford County Humane Society, he'll also be available for photos with your pets.
Despite a busy schedule at the North Pole, Santa will make time to be at the Village Square Mall every weekend until Christmas.
