The Cimarron Lady Bluejays used second chances to stay ahead of the Bucklin Lady Aces in a 58-55 victory Saturday night in the girls championship game of the Bluejay Invitational.
The Lady Bluejays had 13 offensive rebounds and outrebounded their visitors 28-11 to take the title a hot-shooting Bucklin squad. Morgan Ediger and Ashtynn Burns scored 18 points apiece and Eva Koopman added 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked six shots in the victory for Cimarron (4-0).
Bucklin was 17-of-33 from the field (52 percent). Morgan Hood scored 35 points for the LadyAces (3-1), shooting 12-of-18 from the field and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. No other player had more than eight in the loss.
Meade beat Sublette 48-25 to claim third place in the tournament, with Satanta beating Wichita County 65-37 for fifth place and South Gray beating Deerfield 41-27 to finish seventh.
