These are the conservation practices that will appear on the questionnaire to be completed by area fourth-graders:
n Use my bath towel more than once.
n Turn off the water while brushing my teeth.
n Use glasses or plates more than once.
n Tell someone when there is a leaky faucet.
n Turn off the water while washing my hands.
n Wash fruit in a bowl of water, rather than leaving the faucet running.
n Stop using the toilet as a waste basket. (Every time you flush a spider, facial tissue or small piece of trash, you waste water.)
n Turn off water while shaving.
n Wash only full loads of laundry and dishes.
n Short showers instead of taking a bath and use low flow shower heads.
n Do not water plants, gardens and lawns in the heat of the day.
n Plant drought resistant gardens and lawns.
n Use a water bottle and keep it in the refrigerator.
n Limit garbage disposal use to cleaning scraps from dishes.
n Collect rainwater and use for watering plants, flowers, lawns and gardens.
n Dump pets water on plants before you give them fresh water.
