George Cloutman, 96, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at Minneola
District Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1916 in Medicine Lodge to
George William and Martha (Jarrett) Cloutman. A longtime resident of
Minneola, he retired after 33 years from Kansas Power and Light
Company.
He belonged to the First Christian Church, Masonic Lodge #431, and the
American Legion Post #222, both of Minneola, VFW Post #1714, Dodge
City, DAV-Sunflower Post #12. He was a veteran of World War II,
serving in the U.S. Army.
On Feb. 6, 1943, he married Rose K. Rolf at Hattiesburg, Miss. She survives.
Other survivors include: sons, Larry and wife Elizabeth, Lawrence; and
Don and wife Jackie, Burdett; daughter, Leah Berens and husband Tim,
Olathe; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Diane, and three sisters.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at the First
Christian Church, Minneola with Virgil White presiding. Graveside
service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge,
with military honors and Tom Walters presiding.
