Eleanor May (Williams) Hansell, passed away Tuesday December 25, 2012 at Lower Bucks Hosp. Born in Dodge City, Kansas and a resident of Croydon for 60 years. Daughter of John A. Williams and Edna A. Williams. Eleanor served in the U.S. Navy (WAVES) during the Korean Conflict. She taught elementary school in Kansas and Pennsylvania for 32 years. She was a member of the WAVES National and the Keystone WAVES. Member at Large with the DAV Auxiliary, the American association of University Women. Charter member of the Women’s Memorial in Washington, DC. Served on the Bucks County Board of the American Cancer Society and the Board of Directors of Silver Lake Nature Center . She also served at the Lower Bucks Hospital as a chaplain since 1997. Eleanor was a member of Emilie United Methodist Church where she served on the Administrative Board, Visitation Team and the Chairman of the Emilie Christian Day School and a Christ Servant Minister since 1997. She enjoyed cooking , baking and her “garden room” of plants, reading and “life.” She attended the Dodge City Community college where she received her Associates Degree; she also received her BA from The College of New Jersey and her Masters from Penn State, plus 60 credits above her masters. Preceded in death by her daughter Eleanor A. Cunningham and her husband John R. Cunningham and her brother Julius Williams. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert E. Hansell Sr., 2 sons, Robert E. Hansell Jr. (Carla), and John W. Hansell (Kathryne) and 1 sister, Irma Churning (Carl), Sister-in-law, Donna Williams and her dear grandchildren; Robert E. Hansell III (Joyce), Michael A. Hansell (Lindsay), John R. Cunningham, Jr. (Joshua), Ryan P. Cunningham (Nicole), Joshua L. Hansell, Jacob C. Hansell and Kathryne A. Hansell, and her great grandchildren; William E. and Robert J. Tenuto, Brandon R., Hallie C. and Warner M. Hansell and Alexandria A. Cunningham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday eve from 7 – 9 pm at the Emilie United Methodist Church 7300 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19055 and on Sat. morning from 9 to 10:00 am. Services will follow at 10:00 am. Interment Bristol Cemetery.
